If you’ve found your way to this page, it’s because someone who cares about me has shared it with you—and I’m truly grateful that you are here. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sharing my situation publicly is incredibly difficult. At 61 years of age, I never imagined I would find myself facing this level of hardship—emotionally, physically, and financially. For over 13 years I have supported someone through all aspects of farm life: fencing, drought, feeding livestock daily, caring for his mother, and most recently navigating the devastating loss of cattle following environmental contamination. The financial strain of veterinary care, investigations, and ongoing farm pressures has been immense.
In the midst of all this, the impact on my own wellbeing and my business has been significant. Time away from work has resulted in a loss of income and financial independence, and I’ve recently been told I am now a “financial burden”—a comment that many women will understand as deeply painful. My business is my livelihood, my passion, and my path to independence, and right now it urgently needs to be rebuilt and revitalised.
The past months have taken a physical toll as well. Stress has triggered asthma, medication dependence, and a recent collapse that brought on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome symptoms. I am doing everything I can to manage my health, but the pressure has become overwhelming.
I need help.
Not pity, and not handouts—just a hand up.
If you feel led to offer financial support of any amount, it would make a profound difference in helping me recover my health, rebuild my business, and regain independence. These three areas are deeply intertwined, each affecting the others.
I have clients who rely on me, and people in my community who depend on the services I provide. If I cannot recover quickly enough, I may be forced into a support system that requires obligations I am physically unable to meet. This is a last resort I am trying to avoid.
There are several immediate expenses that have become difficult—yet necessary—to manage:
This is only part of the full list—many of these items are now urgent.
The truth is, I feel trapped. Not because of lack of effort—anyone who knows me knows I have fought through every challenge life has thrown at me—but because everything has hit at once. Financial independence is vital for women of all ages and circumstances, and right now I am struggling to move forward without help.
If you know the person I’ve supported for many years, you’ll understand that by helping me, you are also allowing him the space to focus on his own situation—something he needs to do right now.
This page was not easy to create. It took encouragement from others, as I didn’t feel comfortable sharing such personal challenges publicly. But I’m choosing honesty over silence, and hope over fear. If you are able to offer support—of any size—it would mean the world to me and help me take the steps needed to rebuild stability, health, and independence.
